Space Geodesy

Welcome to the website of the Chair “Space Geodesy”!

The professorship conducts research in the space geodetic techniques Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), and Doppler Orbitography and Radiopositioning Integrated by Satellite (DORIS) as well as their combination to so-called global terrestrial reference frames. The reference frames are the metrological basis of almost all geodetic observations. Highly accurate and long-term stable reference frames are essential for the observation and monitoring of the Earth’s system.

Research focuses on different combination strategies as well as conceptual and technological developments of the space techniques. Further information can be found under "Research" and "Publications".
